Zimbabwe Baby Birds Eye Chilli

Originally from Africa where they are used in the various local dishes. Also called the Piri Piri Chilli, which is Swahili for Chilli Chilli. Very popular in Africa and Portugal where they use this type of chilli to create their famous chicken piri piri which tastes absolutely awesome and is highly addictive! Also used to make chilli piri piri sauce. You can use this chilli fresh offcourse to your dishes and cooking but also dried or powder it. The heat level of this chilli varies from around the 100,000 – 225,000 Scoville units.

The chilli pods go from green to red over time. When fully grown the Zimbabwe Baby Birds Eye can grow up to 35 - 50 cm high and you should be able to get a lot of fresh fruit during the chilli season which lasts approximate 4 to 6 months.
