Rocoto Manzano RED Chilli
Originally from Central and South America, and more precisely in Chile and Peru. The species name, pubescens, means hairy, which refers to the hairy leaves of this pepper. The hairiness of the leaves, along with the black seeds, distinguish this species from others.
Manzano is a Spanish word used for apple trees
The heat level of this chilli is hot.

Perfect for Chilli con Carne or any Tex Mex food, like nachos, tacos, fajitas…
When fully grown, the Rocoto Manzano plant can reach up to around 1m tall. It produces heavy yields of 5cm long by 4cm wide hot peppers which turn Red when mature. It gets really bushy and wide as well and lots and lots of fruit… and you should be able to get between 2 to 3 KG per plant of fresh fruit during the chilli season which lasts approximate 4 to 6 months.
Perfect for colder climates!! They keep on fruiting…

I have 2 manzano red variety plants and they are PROLIFIC. As long as your area doesnt see heavy frost, they live for years. They are hot hot hot and a little bit goes a long way. Makes a really good sambal sauce!
